The Single-A Palm Beach Cardinals, one of a dwindling number of affiliated Minor League Baseball teams named for their parent club, will dip their toes into some branding fun with an alternate identity in 2026. The team will play 12 games as the Frozen Iguanas, paying tribute to a quirk of Florida wildlife.

Green iguanas, an invasive species in Florida, are known for their propensity to fall out of trees when the weather gets colder than roughly 50 degrees Fahrenheit. When their body temperature drops, iguanas experience a phenomenon called “cold-stunned paralysis,” which causes them to lose muscle control and fall out of trees, often appearing dead until the sun revives them.

The logos, created by Fooser Sports Design, feature iguanas in varying states of animation. A primary logo includes a fully alert iguana grimacing and holding a baseball bat, while two alternate marks show cold-stunned iguanas, one falling from a palm tree and another on its back on the ground still gripping a baseball bat.

Two text-based logos include a wordmark that evokes iguana markings and a cap logo with PB in three-dimensional blocks of ice.
The Cardinals, a member of the Florida State League, will play as the Frozen Iguanas on Saturdays in 2026.
