The Pensacola Blue Wahoos are ready to take flight with their new alternate identity for the 2026 season.
The Southern League team and Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins unveiled the identity on Monday, November 3, during an event at the Pensacola International Airport. For select games throughout the upcoming season, the Blue Wahoos will take the field as the Pensacola Sky Jockeys, paying homage to the U.S. Navy Blue Angels aerobatic flight team, who have been based in Pensacola since their inception in 1946, and their city’s status as the “Cradle of Naval Aviation.”

“The Pensacola Blue Wahoos have enjoyed a strong relationship with our military community since we first took the field in 2012, and that partnership has only grown in recent years. Our players have visited the Blue Angels on the flight line at N.A.S. Pensacola, and the Blue Angels have reciprocated with frequent flyovers during Blue Wahoos home games. When we think about what makes Pensacola special in the world of Minor League Baseball, our special connection with the Blue Angels is near the top of the list. We can’t wait to take the field wearing uniforms that recognize this unique point of Pensacola pride.”
— Anthony Aspenson, assistant general manager, Pensacola Blue Wahoos
The identity was designed San Diego-based firm Brandiose and centers around an anthropomorphic fighter jet wearing aviator sunglasses and with baseball bats at its wingtips.
The Sky Jockeys wordmark that will appear on the front of their jerseys is set in a “sharp, angular font” that matches the livery on the F/A-18E/F Super Hornets that the Blue Angels fly. The same type of font is used for a “P” logo that appears on the plane’s tail fin and on the left sleeve of the jerseys.

The jerseys themselves are mostly blue, with the wordmark and sleeve logo in yellow. It also features a yellow placket outline and four yellow stripes on each sleeve. The caps that go with the jerseys are blue with the jet fighter logo on the front and a yellow brim.
The Blue Wahoos aren’t the first Pensacola team to pay tribute to the Blue Angels. The SPHL’s Pensacola Ice Flyers wore Blue Angels-themed jerseys in 2023.
The Blue Wahoos also introduced a Pensacola Mullets alternate identity in 2016, and they’ve worn Mullets jerseys for every Thursday home game since 2021. They also played as the Pensacola Pok-Ta-Pok as part of the 2023 MiLB Copa de la Diversión.
The Blue Wahoos will open their 2026 Southern League regular season at home against the Montgomery Biscuits on Friday, April 3.
