Former Spanish maestro Rafael Nadal was spotted enjoying some quality family time on his yacht, the Great White, with his firstborn son in the Mediterranean Sea. Just like his father, Rafael Nadal Jr wore the same blue swimwear as they enjoyed fruitful diving and swimming sessions off the boat deck.
In the pictures that went viral, Nadal was spotted guiding his son through diving and swimming drills. The face of Nadal’s son was blurred, possibly due to privacy reasons, but their adorable bond was clearly evident.

The moment served as an insight into Rafael Nadal’s special bond with his son. The 22-time Grand Slam champion welcomed Rafael Nadal Jr with his wife Mery Perelló on October 8, 2022. The former World No.1 announced the birth of his second son, Miquel, last year in August.

Earlier this year, Rafael Nadal made an honest confession about how fatherhood changed his life and referred to it as “one of the best things in his life.” During an interview for The Masters Under the Umbrellas conversational series, the retired Spaniard shared his experience about how he managed to balance his work and personal life after hanging up his boots.
“(Fatherhood) is one of the best things in life, if not the best. I mean, I love kids, but only the people who have kids can understand the feeling that you have when you are a dad or a mother I think so, you know? The love, the joy that you get every morning…” the 92-time career singles titlist said.
While giving a sneak peek into his daily routine, Nadal revealed that he preserves his morning for work and the afternoon with his family.
“I was traveling a lot during all my life, but now, I try to work in the mornings. At least spend the afternoons with them and every time that I have the chance I bring them with me (on travels),” he added.
Nadal actively travelled to different continents when he was an active player on the roster. But now traveling has become much easier for him as his family accompanies him on his ventures.
“I still have a chance to bring them with me to my travels and that helps a lot for me to not be I mean, not afraid, but for me it’s easier to travel when they are coming,” Nadal concluded.
Rafael Nadal had his last dance in the Davis Cup finals in November 2024 in Malaga, wrapping up his illustrious 23-year career.
