Pittsburgh Steelers To Wear 1933 Throwback Uniforms With New Gold Helmets On Sunday Night Football – Sports activitiesLogos.Net News

The Pittsburgh Steelers will wear an updated version of their 1933 throwback uniforms, which were unveiled this summer and include new gold helmets, during their Sunday Night Football matchup with the Green Bay Packers (8:20 p.m. ET on NBC).

The Steelers originally wore this design during their inaugural season in 1933, when they were known as the Pirates, and then reprised it as a throwback option during the NFL’s 75th season celebration in 1994, though it was paired that year with plain black lids.

This time, however, the uniforms will be worn with matte gold helmets reminiscent of the design that Pittsburgh wore for just five games in 1952, when the franchise added the Steelmark logo to the right side of its lids, which also included a black stripe and gray facemasks.

The gold jerseys aren’t the same as what the Steelers wore in 1994, either, as they feature oversized white numbers on top of vintage black stripes to bring the team’s original uniforms to current league standards, whereas they were previously on the right shoulder.

The Pittsburgh City Crest, which was prominently displayed on the chest of the 1933 and 1994 jerseys, now sits on the left shoulder, while oversized black numbers and the players’ names – another detail absent in 1933 – are featured on the back.

The look is complete with khaki pants and gold socks, which were black in 1933 and 1994. The Steelers went 3-5-2 in the uniforms during their debut season and 1-1 during the league’s 75th anniversary, including a win over the Indianapolis Colts and loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

The Packers, meanwhile, took the Steelers’ gold-heavy design into consideration and will wear their all-white “Winter Warning” alternate uniforms for the second time this season, joining their 27-18 win over the Washington Commanders on Sept. 11.

With that victory, Green Bay improved to 3-0 in its white alternate helmets, which were unveiled last summer, and 5-2 overall in its Color Rush uniforms since they were revealed in 2016, though they were initially paired with gold helmets.
