Podcast host Benny Johnson told the behind-the-scenes story of Elon Musk reuniting with President Trump at Charlie Kirk’s memorial after the two had a very public ‘split.’
Earlier this year, Elon Musk and President Trump had a falling out over the ‘Big Beautiful Bill.’
After previously exchanging public barbs, President Trump and Elon Musk sat side by side at Charlie Kirk’s memorial service on Sunday.
Benny Johnson said Elon Musk called for unity.
“Elon came up to all of us and said: ‘If we don’t hang together, we will surely hang separately, so let us unite. I was proud to sit with my President,” Benny Johnson said.
Benny Johnson continued,” So backstage, Elon Musk embraces Erika Kirk and she’s crying in his arms and they’re hugging and it’s really profound. This was after the speeches. This was after the program. And this is the words that Elon Musk said to us in this small little group with Erika Kirk and he said this is why I was proud to sit with my president today.”
“Charlie dreamed of this, uniting Elon Musk and Donald Trump after their falling out. Two powerful men reconciled because of him. Amazing things are happening,” Benny Johnson said.
“Even in death, Charlie is bringing together forces the world thought could never reunite,” he added.
