Prasidh Krishna came up with an impactful bowling performance against Afghanistan in Chennai in the third ODI of the three-match series. He picked up the Player of the Match award for his sensational spell of 5-23 from 8.2 overs as India whitewashed Afghanistan 3-0 by clinching the Chennai ODI by nine wickets.
Asked to bowl first, India knocked over Afghanistan for 218 in 44.2 overs even as Hashmatullah Shahidi scored 102 off 131 balls. Prasidh got India off to brilliant start, picking up four wickets inside the powerplay. He sent back Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmat Shah and Darwish Rasooli as Afghanistan crumbled to 36-4. He returned to dismiss Shahidi and complete a five-fer.
