Out-of-favor Indian opener Prithvi Shaw wiped his Instagram clean after his engagement with fiancé Akriti Agarwal was called off on Thursday, September 17. The 26-year-old kept one post and removed the rest from his handle.
Shaw’s Instagram account no longer has his photographs or videos. It just has a post with a motivational quote that reads:
“Work until you no longer have to introduce yourself.”
Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal announced their engagement earlier this year in March. However, the two parted ways just six months later. Akriti penned a long note to confirm their separation.
She wrote in an Instagram post:
“With a heavy heart, I would like to share that my fiancé and I have decided to part ways due to different goals and circumstances for our future. As much as we love and care for each other, we’ve come to accept that our paths are not meant to be together. With our responsibilities and the circumstances we are currently facing, we have mutually decided to go our separate ways,
“I genuinely wish nothing but the best, peace, and happiness for both of us as we move forward. I kindly request everyone to respect our privacy during this difficult time and refrain from speculating or making assumptions about the reasons behind our decision. Thank you for understanding and respecting our space.”
Akriti removed the photographs and videos featuring Shaw on Instagram after calling off the engagement.

Akriti Agarwal posted a picture with Lord Ganesh amid Ganesh Chaturthi 2026 and promised to leave her pain behind with the visarjan. She remarked that God would see a new version of herself next year.
The content creator and actress wrote in an Instagram story:
“Bappa, I promise that this Visarjan, I’ll let go of all my sorrow, pain, and problems. And when you meet your Akriti next year, I promise you’ll see a completely different version of me-someone who will choose herself, keep herself as a priority, and walk into the next chapter with a stronger heart.”
On the cricketing front, Prithvi Shaw was last seen in action during the 2026 Duleep Trophy. He failed to make an impact, recording scores of 22 and 6 against North Zone.
