Thanks for the submission!
On that note, let’s take a look at some of the predictions for the qualifying matches that will take place at the Miami Open.
Miami Open 2026 Qualifying Day 2 predictions
Bianca Andreescu vs Suzan Lamens
Andreescu and Lamens will lock horns for the second time when they meet in the Miami Open qualifiers. The Dutchwoman won their previous encounter in Rouen last year, and whoever out of the two wins this time will play either Katie Volynets or Priscilla Hon in the final qualifying round.
Both players last competed in the WTA 125 event in Austin, with Lamens losing in the first round while Andreescu made it all the way to the final before losing to Lanlana Tararudee.
The Canadian has won 17 out of 21 matches so far this season, but none of them have come on the WTA Tour. Tararudee, on the other hand, has won just five out of 14 fixtures, and she is also yet to win a match on the WTA Tour. While Lamens is ranked higher, Andreescu will take a lot of heart from her runner-up finish in Austin and has a good chance of coming out on top at the Miami Open qualifier.
Predicted Winner: Andreescu in three sets.
Nishesh Basavareddy vs Tomas Barrios Vera
Basavareddy and Barrios Vera will lock horns for the very first time when they meet in the Miami Open qualifiers. Whoever out of the two wins will take on either Aleksandar Vukic or Billy Harris for a place in the main draw of the Masters 1000 event.
Basavareddy’s last appearance came at the Play in Challenger this February, and he reached the quarterfinals. Barrios Vera, on the other hand, last competed at the Copa Cap Cana and suffered an opening-round exit.
The American has won nine out of 13 matches across all tournaments so far in 2026, with just one of them coming on the ATP Tour. As for Barrios Vera, he has triumphed in nine out of 19 fixtures across all competitions.
Basavareddy will enter the match as the favorite to win and should be able to come out on top given his relatively better run of form.
Predicted Winner: Basavareddy in straight sets.
Patrick Kypson vs Nikoloz Basilashvili
Kypson and Basilashvili will lock horns in the opening round of the Miami Open qualifying. The two will face one another for the first time, and whoever wins will face either Alex Bolt or Sho Shimabukuro in the final qualifying round.
Kypson last competed in the Indian Wells qualifiers and lost in the first round, while Basilashvili is coming off a quarterfinal run at a Challenger event in Phoenix. The American has won eight out of 17 matches across all competitions so far in 2026, while the Georgian has triumphed in just three out of 12 fixtures.
Kypson’s relatively better run of form should see him get the better of Basilashvili and reach the final qualifying round of the Miami Open.
Predicted Winner: Kypson in three sets.

Hon won the only prior encounter between the two.
Predicted Winner: Volynets in straight sets.

Bonzi and Miguel will lock horns for the very first time.
Predicted Winner: Bonzi in straight sets.
