Reading Fightin Phils to play as Flapjacks for annual morning recreation – SportsLogos.Net News

The Double-A Reading Fightin Phils, an affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies in the Eastern League, will wear breakfast-themed uniforms when they take to the field for their 22nd annual morning game this year. After the success of their Creamed Chip Beef alternate identity last year, the team will be playing as the Flapjacks when they throw the first pitch at 11:00am on September 7, 2025.

The logo features an old-timey feeling pancake character wearing red shoes and a red R hat, with a baseball glove in one hand and holding a bullhorn in the other.

In the US, the term flapjack is a nickname for the breakfast item more commonly known as pancakes, which are also sometimes called hotcakes or griddlecakes. In the UK and Canada, flapjacks can also refer to a kind of rolled up oat bar, but it’s clear from the anthropomorphic pancake logo that the Fightin Phils unveiled, the team is abiding by the meaning typically ascribed in the States.

Gates will open at the crack of 9:00am for the annual morning game, with breakfast-themed pre-game activities on field and around the ballpark.
