Reddit has added a new way to track trending topics of discussion in the app, with Reddit Pro Trends, an element of its Reddit Pro dashboard.
As you can see in this example, Reddit Pro Trends will enable you to track the growth of discussions in the app based on your own custom keywords and/or topics.
As explained by Reddit:
“Housed within a new “Trends” tab on our Reddit Pro menu, businesses can now track virtually any keyword or phrase – their brand name, product name, category, or even the latest viral trend – and see when, where, and how redditors are discussing it in real time.”
In addition to custom terms, Reddit will also include over 100,000 pre-programmed “smart” keywords and phrases that users can track.
Each keyword or term will include a visualization of Reddit conversation volume over time, a list of the communities mentioning that keyword or phrase, and a feed of conversations mentioning their keyword or phrase for further context or direct engagement.
Each topic will eventually also include a list of related keywords to keep exploring, so that you can dig deeper into the broader conversation, and get a better understanding of how and why Redditors care about each.
It could be a valuable research tools for brands, and not only for Reddit-specific campaigns, but for gleaning broader product and topic research. With this, you’ll be able to measure brand feedback in real-time, and see how people are responding to different launches, while also tracking the same for competitors.
That could provide valuable insight, especially considering the popularity of Reddit for discussing products and user experiences.
On another front, Reddit’s also launching AMA ads, which will enable brands to promote their own “Ask Me Anything” chats in the app.
As you can see in this example, Reddit’s AMA ads will give you another way to promote brand chats, to boost engagement in the app.
AMA ads will include a “Remind Me” button, to help you maximize participation, while you’ll also be able to track the number of RSVPs received from the promotion.
AMAs remain one of the most popular elements of Reddit, and AMA ads could be a good way to get the most out of your own promotional efforts.
AMA ads are now available in Reddit Ads Manager.
