Rep Byron Donalds appeared on “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo to discuss his run for Governor of Florida in 2026. President Donald Trump officially endorsed him.
“You’ve got an endorsement from President Trump, officially announcing you are in the run. What do you want to do in Florida?” Bartiromo asked.
“The number one thing we want to do is make sure that we begin the process of getting a stabilized insurance market in Florida. Insurance costs have been rising in our State,” Donalds said.
“The second big thing is Florida will become the financial hub of the world, not just America, but of the world. Digital assets has really found a home in Miami-Dade,” Donalds continued.
“You are starting to see Miami and other areas of Florida become a hub for crypto and digital assets. How can you take that to the next level?” Bartiromo asked.
“A couple of things. Now up in DC there is some things that we need to change. You might want to talk about the accredited investor rule. We might look at some other regulatory features out of the SEC,” Donalds continued.
Rep Donalds also discussed the importance of education and school choice for a better future for children.
“We already lead the country when it comes to school choice and academic attainment. But we want to make sure our kids are shooting for the stratosphere, that we are focused on proficiency in math and reading and writing and in reasoning,” Donalds said.
Donalds also expressed gratitude to President Trump for his endorsement for Governor.
“We need to live in the future. This is one of the reasons why Donald Trump has decided to endorse me for Governor. I’m thankful to have his support,” Donalds continued.
