Ricochet offers himself a brand new title forward of AEW Dynamite

AEW star Ricochet made a major proclamation on social media before a high-stakes match on Dynamite. The AEW National Champion and ROH World Champion Bandido emerged victorious last Wednesday as the two stars survived the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royale and will face off on the go-home Dynamite episode of Worlds End.

Since AEW’s inception, MJF has held the Dynamite Diamond Ring. For the first time in history, The Salt of the Earth will not participate in the race for the prize. The stakes have also been raised. Not only will the winner get the ring, but also get an AEW World Championship shot at Maximum Carnage Dynamite.

Ahead of his match on Dynamite at 34th Street, the AEW National Champion took to X and called himself the ‘King of the Diamond Ring.’

“King of the Diamond Ring,” he wrote.

Tony Khan talks about Ricochet as an AEW National Champion

The Highlight of the Night was crowned the first-ever AEW National Champion at this year’s Full Gear after he emerged victorious in the 12-man Casino Gauntlet match.

Speaking on the Battleground podcast, Tony Khan said the reigning AEW National Champion is a great wrestler and that promotions like ROH, CMLL, and New Japan Strong want to feature him. He will be defending the title all around the world.

“We’ve got a new National Champion, Ricochet, who will be defending that title all over the world. And he’s somebody that not only AEW fans respect–I believe he’s a great, great wrestler–but also someone who is a huge name in wrestling and a great person to represent [All Elite Wrestling], not just here on our TV shows, but also when traveling to other promotions in America. Companies like Ring of Honor, New Japan Strong, and even in Mexico with CMLL–lots of other promotions want to bring in Ricochet,” he said.

It remains to be seen who wins the Dynamite Diamond Ring this week on Dynamite.
