Rishabh Pant clinches a leaping one-handed stunner to dismiss Yashasvi Jaiswal for 22 in LSG vs RR IPL 2026 match [Watch]

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Rishabh Pant pulled off a spectacular one-handed catch to cut short Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal’s innings in the IPL 2026 match on Wednesday, April 22. LSG won the toss and chose to field first at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Shami drew first blood for the hosts by getting rid of Jaiswal in the third over. The southpaw launched an onslaught against the veteran seamer, hitting a hat-trick of fours.

However, the fast bowler had the last laugh in the contest as he dismissed Jaiswal with a bouncer on the fifth ball. The RR batter went for the hook shot, but the ball brushed his glove and flew towards keeper Pant, who jumped and plucked out a one-handed stunner.

Jaiswal scored 22 runs off 12 balls during his stay at the crease. Watch the video:

Two in two for Mohammad Shami as he sends back Dhruv Jurel with a peach in LSG vs RR IPL 2026 clash

Mohammad Shami was on a roll with the new ball. Dhruv Jurel walked out to bat at No. 3 after Yashasvi Jaiswal’s dismissal and was welcomed with a peach of a delivery.

The 35-year-old pitched it on the good length on the middle stump. The ball shaped away and took the outside edge of Jurel’s bat as he looked to defend. Rishabh Pant did the rest behind the stumps, and Shami picked up two wickets off successive balls. The wicketkeeper-batter perished for a golden duck.

RR lost three wickets in the powerplay. Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored eight runs off 11 balls before getting dismissed by Mohsin Khan in the fourth over. Digvesh Rathi completed a fine running catch after the youngster miscued a lofted drive. Rajasthan finished with 44/3 in six overs.
