The wicketkeeper-batter played a unique-looking shot as the ball hit the bat and sneaked in between the pads and stumps for a boundary.

The falling scoop was put on display as Jofra Archer bowled a fuller-length delivery in the 18th over of the first innings. Pant went for the shot while falling onto the ground, a usual sight from him in Test matches, leaving the bowler and commentators in surprise.

During his knock, Rishabh Pant scored 35 runs off 23 balls at a strike rate of 152.17, including two sixes and as many fours.

Rishabh Pant got run out in an unfortunate fashion as Mitchell Marsh sent him back, denying a single in the IPL 2026 match. The incident occurred in the last over as Archer bowled a short delivery on the stumps, and Marsh failed to connect the ball as it flew over him to the wicketkeeper. The right-hander sent Pant back as wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel threw the ball back to the bowler, who smashed the stumps at the non-striker’s end.

In the same over, Marsh missed out on a well-deserved century, scoring 96 runs off 57 balls with the help of five maximums and 11 boundaries. The 34-year-old was run out by stand-in captain Yashasvi Jaiswal while trying to complete the second run. Nonetheless, he became the new leading run-getter in IPL 2026, amassing 563 runs in 13 innings. Marsh went past SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen, who has 555 runs in 13 games.

Earlier in the match, Josh Inglis slammed a quickfire 60 off 29, hitting three sixes and seven boundaries. He shared a 109-run stand with Marsh for the opening wicket. Meanwhile, Yash Raj Punja emerged as the leading wicket-taker for the Royals, finishing with figures of 2/35.

A win would help RR stay alive in the race to the IPL 2026 playoffs. On the other hand, 10th-placed LSG have already been knocked out from the tournament this season.
