Roman Reigns broke his silence today ahead of WWE Royal Rumble 2026. The PLE will air live from Saudi Arabia on January 31, 2026.
The OTC has not been in action since teaming up with CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and The Usos in the Men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series 2025. He took to social media today to promote the upcoming Street Fighter film set to be released this October. Roman Reigns will portray Akuma in the film, and you can check out the former champion’s message in the post below.
Thanks for the submission!
“AKUMA! THE MASTER OF THE FIST! 🔥 @Street_Fighter #StreetFighterMovie Only in Theaters October 16th, 2026,” he wrote.
Cody Rhodes was also cast in the Street Fighter movie set to be released later this year. The American Nightmare lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre in a Three Stages of Hell match earlier this month on SmackDown. Jacob Fatu interfered in the match and will be facing Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend.
Former WWE star reveals he doesn’t want to be like Roman Reigns
Gable Steveson recently discussed his time in WWE and revealed that he did not have aspirations to be like Roman Reigns.
Speaking on The Joe Rogan Experience, the Olympic gold medalist commented on his time in the promotion and claimed that he didn’t want to be over the top. He referenced promos by stars such as The Tribal Chief and Cena and suggested that he didn’t want to mimic them while in the company.
“I’ve always spoken about myself highly. I always wanted to be over the top. Like in WWE, when he gets on the microphone, and John Cena says, ‘You can’t see me’, or when Roman Reigns says, ‘acknowledge me’. When I go out there, I don’t want to say those things. When you see me, that’s him. And I’ve always had to be that bigger-than-Gable person.
It will be interesting to see what the promotion has planned for Reigns on the road to WrestleMania 42.
