Roundup: Worrying replace on feminine star, 8-time WWE champion returning quickly? Jey Uso’s former accomplice saves him!

Welcome to a brand-new edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s WWE News and Rumor Roundup. Today, we’ll cover a worrying update about a female star, the possibility of an 8-time champion returning soon, and Jey Uso’s former tag team partner saving him on SmackDown.

Let’s get started:

#5. Worrying update on female star following WWE SmackDown

Earlier this year, Blake Monroe moved to WWE’s main roster following WrestleMania 42. For months, The Glamour teased her in-ring debut and started a feud with Giulia on Friday Night SmackDown. On the recent edition of Friday Night SmackDown, the two finally locked horns.

However, things went wrong during the match. In the end, Monroe didn’t get to use her finisher and quickly covered The Beautiful Madness for the pin when she awkwardly landed headfirst on the turnbuckle. Later, referees and officials checked on the former NXT Women’s Champion and helped her leave the ring.

Later, she was still walking with assistance, but she made it worse for herself when she headbutted Blake Monroe. It’s worrisome news as the match abruptly ended, and officials helped the star walk to the back. Moreover, the backstage segment provided a concerning update, as it could be more than an angle for Giulia. Only time will tell if it’s kayfabe or if she’s really injured.

#4. Cody Rhodes won’t compete at WWE Money in the Bank 2026

Earlier this year, Cody Rhodes lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Sami Zayn at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia and hasn’t got his hands back on championship gold. On the recent edition, Rhodes was in a Triple Threat match against Kevin Owens and Johnny Gargano for the final spot in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder match.

In the end, Rhodes hit a Cross Rhodes on Owens, but Randy Orton appeared ringside, costing his former protégé the match. The two brawled outside, and The Prizefighter hit a Pop-Up Powerbomb on Gargano, qualifying for the upcoming gimmick match.

Cody Rhodes won’t get the opportunity to win the briefcase and will continue his feud with The Viper on Friday Night SmackDown.

#3. Jey Uso’s former tag team partner saves him on WWE SmackDown

SmackDown often has a segment or match in store when the camera stops rolling. On the recent edition, The Usos defeated OTM via disqualification when Royce Keys attacked Jey Uso. The group stood tall over the twins until Cody Rhodes came out to save the day.

For those who aren’t aware, Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso won the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship in 2023 from The Judgment Day. The reign lasted around two weeks, but Rhodes and Uso’s partnership became one of the highlights on the red brand, and Main Event Jey was on The American Nightmare’s side when he won at WrestleMania XL.

After Rhodes saved The Usos, he spoke highly of them and closed the show on a happy note alongside the twins, and Charlotte Flair helped two special fans make a lifetime memory in the ring.

#2. Official card for WWE Money in the Bank 2026

Money in the Bank will take place next week, October 10, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the card is set. With one exception, all participants are confirmed for the upcoming gimmick matches; it looks like no more matches will be added to the card.

Official card for Money in the Bank 2026:

2. Oba Femi vs. The Vision’s Bronson Reed in a singles match

#1. 8-time WWE champion could be returning soon – Report

Earlier this year, Drew McIntyre was in an intense feud with Jacob Fatu heading into WrestleMania 42. The Scottish Warrior lost to The Samoan Werewolf in an unsanctioned match at The Grandest Stage of Them All in Nevada and went on a hiatus.

McIntyre shot for the upcoming Highlander reboot and signed a new film, The Last Druid, extending his hiatus from in-ring competition. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), Drew McIntyre has finished shooting and should soon return to the weekly product.

The former four-time WWE World Champion, two-time Tag Team Champion, one-time Intercontinental and NXT Champion hasn’t wrestled in nearly six months. It’ll be interesting to see what the company has in store for The Chosen One when he returns in the coming weeks or months.
