You can find custard-filled, bar-shaped doughnuts pretty much anywhere. Where you live, they might be called long Johns, maple bars, éclairs, finger donuts, or filled sticks, but in northeast Ohio, they are cream sticks.
In 2026, the Akron RubberDucks, Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians in the Eastern League, will lay claim to their unique moniker for the common confection when they play two games as the Akron Cream Stick Donuts. The pastry joins a litany of local specialities that the RubberDucks have celebrated with their “Only in Akron” series, including Cheese Salads, Akron White French salad dressing, JoJos, Sauerkraut Balls, and Barberton Fried Chicken and Hot Rice.

“After living in different parts of the country throughout my career, it always shocked me to hear the different names people had for cream stick donuts,” RubberDucks President and General Manager Jim Pfander said in a statement. “Whether topped with chocolate, maple or vanilla icing, we are excited to celebrate cream stick donuts for two nights this summer.”
The logo features an anthropomorphic cream stick character swinging a baseball bat and a wordmark that can best be described as round and doughy. The identity is set in a color palette that evokes the traditional maple bar.
The Cream Stick Donuts will take the field July 24 and 25, 2026.
