Buffalo Sabres’ Lindy Ruff has clapped back at Boston Bruins’ Marco Sturm for his past comments. Last Friday, the Sabres beat the Bruins 4-1 to win the series 4-2 and proceed to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
However, before the Sabres and Bruins could face each other in Round 1, Boston’s head coach, Marco Sturm, took a dig at the Sabres. In an interaction with the media, Sturm mentioned he was happy to face the Sabres and also opened up on the reason behind it.
“We’re excited. We are bigger, stronger, we are more physical. We just have to be smart. But, we’re going to go after them,” Sturm said.
While Sturm had a certain opinion about the Buffalo Sabres before Round 1, his claims were put to rest as the Sabres beat the Boston Bruins and proceeded to Round 2. After finishing the job against the Bruins, Buffalo’s Lindy Ruff has now taken a savage dig at Marco Sturm.
“I have to be careful about answering questions about bigger, stronger teams,” Ruff said.

In the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Buffalo Sabres are set to take on the Montreal Canadiens. Game 1 between the two teams will be played at the KeyBank Center at 7 P.M.
Buffalo’s Lindy Ruff also opened up on Sam Carrick’s return ahead of the game against Montreal
Buffalo’s Sam Carrick has been away from the action ever since he sustained an upper-body injury during his fight with Anders Lee in a March 31 game against the New York Islanders. Since then, Buffalo fans in particular have been waiting to see Carrick return.
Recently, at the same press conference as above, Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff addressed Sam Carrick’s availability for Game 1 against the Montreal Canadiens. Ruff didn’t rule out Carrick making an appearance in tonight’s game.
“We haven’t really put a date on it. Tonight could be a possibility,” Ruff said.

Sam Carrick was traded to the Buffalo Sabres on March 6th, 2026. Before this, Carrick has played for teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Anaheim Ducks, the Edmonton Oilers, and the New York Rangers. However, Carrick is yet to win a Stanley Cup.
