Sammy Guevara’s shut pal involves his protection amid rumors of his AEW exit

The recent rumors about Sammy Guevara’s potential exit from AEW prompted his close friend to come to his aid online.

The aforementioned name, who also previously worked with All Elite Wrestling, is KJ Orso. He and Sammy Guevara have been longtime best friends and were part of the Jacksonville-based promotion together. Furthermore, Orso and Guevara were often seen together in Guevara’s vlog, which helped him build a significant fanbase. At the same time, he had a three-year stint in AEW from 2020 to 2023, wrestling the likes of Miro, Roderick Strong, and more.

On the other hand, Sammy Guevara has been absent from All Elite Wrestling for almost two months. Amid that, major speculation about his AEW exit began after he removed their references from his social media bio, though one report stated Guevara never had them in the first place.

This led KJ Orso to release a statement on X about the same. He highlighted that Guevara only added ‘World Champion’ to his bio, which sparked the rumors. Moreover, Orso was disappointed with some people for their unnecessary hate towards the Spanish God due to misconceptions.

“All he did was add “World Champion” to his bio and everyone ran with assumptions. Hate him or love him as a wrestler, it sucks that there will always be hate for him as a person online because of misguided misconceptions of past circumstances, but he’s a genuinely good guy.”

Sammy Guevara on his recent absence from AEW

In a recent conversation with MuscleManMalcom, Sammy Guevara was asked about his absence from All Elite Wrestling. Tay Melo’s real-life husband told him to take it up with Tony Khan, as he had no say in it. Moreover, even his match against Darby Allin for the World title months ago was a last-minute decision.

“Put in a word. Tell Tony. Honestly, man, you know that’s obviously not my call. The last time I was in AEW I was gonna wrestle Darby for the world title. I was given a couple of hours’ notice. I just tried to do the best I could,” he added.

As the rumors continue to swirl, it remains to be seen if Guevara will return or leave Tony Khan’s company.
