San Francisco 49ers To Debut Nike “Rivalries” Uniforms In Pivotal NFC West Matchup – SportsLogos.Net News

The San Francisco 49ers will debut their new Nike “Rivalries” uniforms during Saturday’s pivotal matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, as the NFC West division title and No. 1 seed in the conference will be on the line at 8 p.m. ET on ABC/ESPN.

The uniforms, which were unveiled as part of an eight-team rollout in August, bring to mind the black alternate design the 49ers wore from 2015-17, though this time they’re paired with a new black helmet that features their primary logo, two red stripes and a gold facemask.

They also display a gold “Faithful” wordmark – which was part of their refreshed brand identity that debuted this summer – across the chest above Saloon-style drop-shadow numbers, as well as a traditional red striping pattern on the sleeves and down the sides of the pants.

The “Rivalries” uniforms – which bring to mind MLB’s City Connect and NBA’s City Edition programs – will be worn just once season but will remain in the rotation for three years, which would allow them to be worn in a home game against a different divisional opponent.

The series kicked off with the AFC East and NFC West and will expand to the AFC South and NFC North in 2026, AFC West and NFC East in 2027 and AFC North and NFC South in 2028, marking the first league-wide uniform promotion since the Color Rush program debuted in 2015.

The 49ers are the final team to wear their “Rivalries” design this season, joining the Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Rams, New England Patriots and New York Jets. Interestingly, all four NFC West matchups have involved Seattle.

To this point, San Francisco has not revealed a matching field design for Saturday’s game, though it’s safe to assume they’ll have something special after using a black background in the end zones alongside their aforementioned 2015-17 black alternate uniforms.

Every team participating in the “Rivalries” series this season, except for Buffalo, painted a matching design on their field, as the Bills have their design sewn into the turf. The Jets, Patriots, Rams and Seahawks also play on turf, but they paint their design on for each game, while the Cardinals, Dolphins and 49ers play on natural grass.

Meanwhile, this marks the fifth different uniform worn by the 49ers this season, joining their standard home and road uniforms and the home and road versions of their 1994 throwback uniforms, which are a combined 3-0 this season.

That includes the road version in a 16-15 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sept. 21 and the home version in a 20-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Oct. 19 and a trilling 42-38 win over the Chicago Bears last weekend.
