Seattle Kraken Tease Alternate Jersey in Social Media Video – SportsLogos.Net News

It looks like the National Hockey League’s Seattle Kraken are getting ready to dive back into the waters of the Pacific Northwest for the inspiration for a new alternate jersey.

The Kraken posted a 49-second video to their social media channels on Monday, August 4, teasing what is presumably a third jersey for the upcoming 2025-26 NHL season.

The video follows a U.S. Coast Guard ship flying a Kraken flag that receives a report of a “glowing anomaly” in the northeast corner of Elliott Bay, a part of Puget Sound near Seattle Center and Climate Pledge Arena. Crew member then pull a chest out of the water, force it open and take a look inside.

The video closes with the tagline “THE ABYSS AWAKENS.” A Morse code signal plays underneath, which contributors on the Kraken’s subreddit decoded as spelling out “September 4,” the presumed release date.

The team’s website URL then appears on screen and turns red in the final frame of the video.

This would be the Kraken’s first full-time alternate jersey since they joined the NHL in 2021. Aside from their regular home and road jerseys — which have not changed in that time — the Kraken have worn special jerseys for the 2024 Winter Classic and as part of the Reverse Retro 2.0 program in 2022-23.

“Glowing anomaly?” “The abyss awakens?” What could those mean for a Kraken third jersey? Let us know what you think in the comments!
