Skip Bayless mercilessly shames Luka Doncic for 37 straight minutes amid Lakers famous person’s MVP run

Skip Bayless has never shied away from offering his opinions on players. A major critic of LeBron James, the analyst is often on the forward’s case, but on Thursday, he laid into his Lakers teammate Luka Doncic, mercilessly shaming the guard for 37 straight minutes.

The television personality shared a clip of him criticizing Doncic on social media, dissecting his performances amid his MVP-caliber run in the league.

“I just can’t wrap my head around Luka Doncic as an offensive basketball player,” Bayless said (Timesatmp: 1:49). “Obviously, Luka is running away with the scoring title. Way to go, Luka. But how is he doing that?

“The ball is going to be in his hands about, you know, going on 40% of the time … on top of that, as he does, (he) attempts the most shots in the league by far, and he attempts the most three-point shots in the league by far.”

Bayless continued to shame Doncic in his rant, questioning his status as a superstar.

“He’s pretty awful,” Bayless continued (Timestamp: 23:47). “The truth is, certainly by star or superstar standards, he’s pretty awful. But he’ll have these jags, these heat-check stretches where he’ll make two or three, and we say, ‘God, that’s incredible.'”

The rant went on for 37 minutes, as Bayless dissected Doncic’s entire season. However, while the analyst criticized the Lakers’ star, his importance to Los Angeles is evident.

The guard leads the team and the league in scoring at 33.6 points per game while shooting 47.4% from the field. He also sits third on the assists list and has recorded 30-plus points in his last five games.

Amid his standout season, Bayless’s rant comes across as strongly opinionated, reflecting his continued tendency to deliver provocative takes.

Skip Bayless offers a rare acknowledgment of Luka Doncic amid an explosive rant

Skip Bayless didn’t offer much respite to Luka Doncic during his 37-minute-long rant about the superstar on Thursday. However, there was a rare moment when Bayless acknowledged a single area in which Doncic has improved this season.

“Now, defensively, I’ve got to give him his flowers, at least one,” Bayless said (Timestamp: 28:37). “I’ll just give you one, Luka, because he’s been much better on defense, especially of late, and has moved all the way up to 30th in defensive win shares.”

Following his brief praise, Bayless continued to criticize the superstar, as he believed Shai Gilgeous-Alexander should be crowned MVP.
