Snapchat’s looking to expand the use of its in-app stickers beyond the app itself, with a new Snapchat app for iMessage that will enable both Android and iOS users to add Snapchat stickers to each system’s native messaging platform.

As you can see in these example screens, now, once you’ve activated Snapchat’s new iMessage app, you’ll be able to select “Snapchat” from your list of sticker sources on other messaging applications. You’ll then be able to use your Bitmoji-powered Snapchat stickers in other apps.
It could be a handy way to communicate, using your customized Bitmoji stickers in more places, which could also help to promote Snapchat’s stickers to more potential users.
Bitmoji are hugely popular, and Snapchat would be hoping that by further promoting Bitmoji use, that’ll spark more interest in the option, and get more people logging into Snap to use this as a connection option.
It’s an interesting consideration either way, and I can imagine that many Snap users will be keen to add this to into their DM process.
Also on the Bitmoji stickers front, Snapchat’s rolling out a new “Customoji” option in the main app, which will generate new Bitmoji stickers for you in-stream, based on what you type in your Snaps.

As you can see in these examples, now, you’ll be able to auto-generate custom stickers based on what you say in your Snap DMs, adding another way to connect via Snapchat’s stickers.
Snap users will be able to search for any phrase within the library, and pick a favorite from a selection of Bitmoji stickers.
As noted, Bitmoji are widely used on Snap, with over 2.7 billion Bitmoji avatars in circulation. And with Snapchat looking to build these into a bigger tool for digital identity, this could be another means to solidify these cartoon characters as your online avatar moving forward.
