The Lethbridge Hurricanes celebrated their first weekend-long homestand of their 40th Western Hockey League season by rolling out new sweaters for both games, one featuring a brand new design and one bringing back an old favourite.
The Hurricanes played their first of back-to-back games at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena on Friday, October 2, against the Prince Albert Raiders. For that game, the Hurricanes took the ice sporting new blue alternate jerseys as part of their 40th season celebrations.
The jerseys feature an outline-heavy, recoloured version of the Hurricanes’ primary logo – similar to what they wear on their black alternate jerseys – on a navy blue base. The shoulder yokes are cream with a red outline, and the Hurricanes’ 40th season logo appears as a patch on both shoulders.

The waist and sleeves both have cream, silver and red stripes running around them. Numbers on the sleeves and back are cream with a red outline. The socks are navy blue with the same striping pattern.

The following night against the Calgary Hitmen, the Hurricanes busted out throwback jerseys harkening back to their first season in Lethbridge in 1987. Like the originals, the throwback jerseys use the same template that the National Hockey League‘s Washington Capitals were using at the time, with a red base, white shoulder yokes, and stars across the chest and down the sleeves.

The team’s original logo – a hockey stick blade with an italic H in the middle, with “Lethbridge” above and “Hurricanes” below – sits on the chest. Broad blue and white stripes run around the waist, while a white panel on the forearms is bisected by a narrow blue stripe. Numbers on the back and sleeves are white with a blue outline.
Game-worn, autographed throwback jerseys are being auctioned off, with bids closing on Tuesday, October 13. The Hurricanes haven’t indicated if or when either of the jerseys worn over the weekend will see further game action during the 2026-27 WHL regular season.
