The main event for the upcoming edition of WWE SmackDown has reportedly been revealed. The show is scheduled to air live from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, later tonight.
In a star-studded match, CM Punk, Finn Balor, and Gunther will compete for the final spot in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder’s Match. According to Viper Reports, the high-stakes match between the three veterans will close the September 25 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

“Finn Balor vs. CM Punk vs. Gunther in a Men’s Money In The Bank Triple Threat Qualifying Match is currently listed as the main event for tonight’s episode of #SmackDown per the early rundown for the show,” Viper Reports tweeted.
The winner of the match will join Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Penta, and Trick Williams in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder’s Match on October 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The upcoming episode of the blue brand’s show will also feature the final qualifier for the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder’s Match. In a three-way battle, Charlotte Flair, Giulia, and Lash Legend will compete to join Jacy Jayne, Lola Vice, Roxanne Perez, and Sol Ruca in the battle for the all-important MITB contract.
Major championship match scheduled for WWE SmackDown
The WWE United States Championship will be defended on the upcoming edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Trick Williams will put the title on the line against Baron Corbin in a Steel Cage Match. According to Viper Reports, the bout will open the show.
The two stars have been involved in an intriguing rivalry since the latter’s return to the Stamford-based promotion. Baron Corbin defeated Trick Williams at SummerSlam to win the WWE United States Championship and successfully defended the gold against The Anointed One the following week on SmackDown. However, Trick Williams won the title back at Sunday Night’s Main Event.
Lil Yachty has been an active part of the feud between Baron Corbin and Trick Williams. It will be interesting to see if he plays a part in the championship match later tonight.
