Super Bowl LIX Eagles vs. Chiefs Expert Sports Betting Picks, Predictions, Prop Bets

With the hundreds and hundreds of betting markets offered by online sportsbooks, it can be challenging to decide which ones to put your money on. Do you go for the ‘sure-fire winners, the long shots, the value plays, or all of the above?

My approach is to find a happy medium. I don’t like to roll the dice on longshots, but I want to at least double my money. If the odds are long, there has to be value in the play. With that in mind, here are my best bets for Super Bowl 59.

Super Bowl Touchdown Props (BetMGM)

I’m not a big fan of first-to-score TD props, but I do think the ‘First TD’ props for Jalen Hurts (+650) and Saquon Barkley (+400) have value. Of all the touchdown props, only two make my best bets list, but not as single, standalone wagers. I’m talking about:

Jalen Hurts, Anytime -115

Saquon Barkley, Anytime -200

Same Game Parlay Odds: +225

But I do not feel like risking $200 even though it is easier to see Barkley scoring than Travis Kelce proposing to Ms. Swift after the game. However, they accounted for more than half of the Eagles touchdowns this season, and both scored in six games (regular and postseason).

In the biggest game of the season, I like two of the game’s biggest stars to score, making this a solid same-game parlay.

Super Bowl Props: Saquon Barkley (FanDuel)

I’m not confident enough in either team to win this game to get me to bet on them, but I am confident in one thing. If the Eagles are going to win or even be competitive, they have to get Saquon Barkley on track early on.

Against a Chiefs defense that’s giving up 150+ yards a game in the postseason, I don’t think that will be much of an issue. The only question is just how good he’ll do. 

The OVER/UNDER for his rushing total is 109.5 yards at -110/-110. I like the OVER, but I don’t like to minus money odds, so I’m combining it with his ‘Anytime Touchdown Scorer’ prop at -185 in a same game parlay (+141). I’d say the chances are good that if he runs for over 109.5 yards, he’ll score.

But the odds favor the house with parlays, no matter how good you think they look. If you want to bet on Barkley but not via an SGP, take ‘Barkley to run for 125+ yards’ at +150.

In the 11 games where he ran for over 109 yards, Barkley scored in eight. Of the 14 in which he ran for 100+ yards, he ran for 125+ in eight.

Super Bowl Props: Game/Miscellaneous

The odds on the coin toss are minus money odds (-103), which means the number listed is what you have to bet to win $100. Let’s be real—it’s just an outright guess. If you are going to bet on a guess, shouldn’t you at least double your money?

But if you’re thinking about betting on the coin toss, why not win some money doing so? Take the winner of the coin toss to win the game (BetRivers):

Chiefs: Yes +250 No -335

Eagles: Yes +315 No -435

Parlaying the coin toss with either team to win outright or cover is not an option. So, rather than tie up funds with two separate bets, place one wager on your team to do both, win the coin toss, and win the game.

4th Down Conversions OVER 2.5 +140 (BetMGM)

If this game is as competitive and close as expected, we can count on more than a couple of fourth-down conversion attempts. Both teams will want to do whatever it takes to keep the other’s offense off the field. The Eagles made it on 20 of 23 attempts this season, and the Chiefs on 12 of 17.

If it means keeping Patrick Mahomes off the field and it works, the Eagles may not punt the entire game.
