Taiwan navy chief reportedly to go to US subsequent week

Reuters is reporting that Taiwan’s navy chief, Tang Hua, can be within the US subsequent week to attend a army ceremony. And in addition to debate boosting bilateral naval cooperation amid the threats from China.

The sources say that Tang can be visiting Hawaii first for a Pacific Fleet change-of-command ceremony. After which, he’ll attending a convention in Washington from 8 to 10 April. There, he’s anticipated to satisfy with US chief of naval operations, Lisa Franchetti.

These types of journeys are often not publicised, as they’re slightly delicate given the character of the operation. And this particularly because the US and Taiwan dose not have an official army relationship.
