“Taylor Swift is kind of dull”: Travis Kelce’s fiancée dragged in Caitlin Clark-Morgan Wallen controversy by ESPN analyst amid Fever star’s outrage

ESPN guest writer Jayson Buford called out Caitlin Clark on X on Monday after she attended Morgan Wallen’s concert on Saturday. Buford shared a screenshot from his Substack article, which was titled “All Caitlin Clark Had To Be Was Cool” and called her “uncool.”

“I wrote about Caitlin Clark, who only ever had to be a little bit cool, and by walking with Morgan Wallen, reminding everybody that she is kind of uncool and one of them,” Buford wrote.

He commented under his tweet amd mentioned Taylor Swift’s name, who is a good friend of Clark.

I think Taylor Swift is kind of dull but if she walked out with Swift, I would not care,” Buford commented. “That is wavy. ‘Vanilla girl power! Yay!’ But this is Wallen, so it is a little bit different.”

Clark attended the Wallen’s “Still the Problem” tour just hours after the Indiana Fever lost their home season opener to the Dallas Wings (107-104). Plus, she also participated in his signature “walkout,” where Clark joined Wallen as he made his way to the stage through the arena’s tunnels.

In his Substack write-up, Buford raised a red flag about how Caitlin Clark fits into WNBA’s culture.

“The WNBA functions as a progressive league, a league full of lesbians, studs, women of color who are unafraid to take real stances that the men are too capitalist to take,” he wrote. “Clark brings a ‘daughter of white supremacy’ element that tips the league’s culture over because Clark has long been defended by white people and even by men trying to pierce through the fact that Angel Reese isn’t the player that Clark is.”

Buford also claimed that some Black WNBA fans feel uncomfortable with Clark.

The ESPN guest writer seemingly felt Clark’s public appearance with Wallen was problematic because of his history of scandals. It includes a 2021 incident where he used a racial slur outside his Nashville home after a night out with friends.

Following the clip’s release, Wallen’s recording contract was indefinitely suspended. PLus, his music was pulled from major radio chains like iHeartMedia and streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music.
