Todd Blanche Is Out To Destroy The DOJ

When the public sees an institution bulldozed like the East Wing of the White House or defaced like the Kennedy Center, the outcry and opposition are louder and more public.

What Donald Trump is doing to the federal government is a hollowing out from the inside out. For example, the Department of Education still technically exists, but it has been destroyed from within. Employees are laid off, departments have been closed, and the Department of Education has ceased to function in many respects.

After Senate Republicans foolishly confirmed Trump’s personal lawyer, Todd Blanche, to be the next Attorney General, it didn’t take long for Blanche to reveal his true mission at the Department of Justice.

Blanche was on NBC’s Meet The Press where Kristen Welker asked him, “We appreciate you being here in person. As we just heard in your address to the Justice Department staff this week, you said you and the DOJ will, quote, “uphold the law without fear or favor.” You of course used to be President Trump’s former personal defense attorney. Can you pledge that the Justice Department will always act independently of the White House?”

Welker asked about the DOJ’s traditional independence from the White House and political influence, and Blanche said that the independence should not exist in any presidential administration.
