Cortez is 3-2 in her last five fights and was most recently seen in a second-round submission loss to Erin Blanchfield at UFC 322 in November. Pereira, meanwhile, reclaimed the 205-pound strap with a Round 1 knockout win over Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320 in his most recent outing.

Tracy Cortez wants Alex Pereira’s sister to come to the UFC

Tracy Cortez believes Alex Pereira’s sister Aline deserves to be in the UFC. Aline is a talented striker, much like her older brother, and is the reigning Karate Combat women’s flyweight champion.

Cortez had part of her training camp for the Erin Blanchfield fight in Connecticut, and during that time, drilled extensively with Pereira’s sister. Reflecting on her time with the Brazilian during the UFC 322 media day, Cortez said:

“[Aline] is a great person. She’s an amazing athlete. I think that, I think it’s time for her to also be in the UFC, you know. I mean, she’s also a flyweight, but she’s an incredible athlete. She’s an incredible striker, and yeah, I can’t wait.” [9:53 mark of the interview]
