Trump: Iran is now extra malleable in talks

Trump speaking to Fox News said Iran will be ‘blown off the face of the earth’ if the Islamic republic attacks US ships guiding vessels through Strait of Hormuz.

A US official cited by Al Jazeera said that Project Freedom in the Strait of Hormuz is a defensive operation and we do not want to see escalation with Iran.

I don’t see how any of this is a long-term solution. At some point, US ships will have to leave the area.

At the same time, Trump said Iran is now more malleable in talks.

More now from Trump:

  • Iran has taken some shots at unrelated nations with respect to ship movement and Project Freedom, including a South Korean cargo ship
  • Perhaps it’s time for South Korea to join the mission
  • We’ve shot down seven small boats, or as Iran likes to call them ‘fast’ boats
  • Other than South Korean ship, there has been, at this moment, no damage going through Strait
  • Hegseth and Dan Caine will have a press conference tomorrow morning
  • No damage going through Strait

The full post on Truth just now:

Iran has taken some shots at unrelated Nations with respect to the Ship
Movement, PROJECT FREEDOM, including a South Korean Cargo Ship. Perhaps
it’s time for South Korea to come and join the mission! We’ve shot down
seven small Boats or, as they like to call them, “fast” Boats. It’s all
they have left. Other than the South Korean Ship, there has been, at
this moment, no damage going through the Strait. Secretary of War Pete
Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Caine, will have a
News Conference tomorrow morning. Thank you for your attention to this
matter!

This doesn’t sound like he’s in a rush to escalate.
