Trump says the Fed ought to reduce fee as tariffs hit the financial system

Federal Reserve comments from Trump on his social media account:

• “The Fed would be MUCH better off CUTTING RATES as U.S.Tariffs start to transition (ease!) their way into the economy.
• Do the right thing.
• April 2nd is Liberation Day in America!!!”

I posted yesterday on the likelihood of Fed rate cuts in the face of a deteriorating economy:

• The Fed can cut because of good news—inflation has declined … can also cut because of bad news—the economy is sputtering.

Trump is pushing for a response due to the bad news ahead for the economy. Its not hard to think he will get his way soon enough.
