President Trump will meet with New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani at the mayor’s Gracie Mansion estate this afternoon while the President visits New York City to attend the United Nations General Assembly.
This marks the President’s first meeting with Mamdani since the New York Mayor visited the White House in February. Previously, Trump and Mamdani had a cordial meeting at the White House after the New York mayoral election in November.
Since then, Mamdani has clashed with the President several times over the new mayor’s Communist policies and opposition to Trump’s immigration enforcement efforts.
Most notable was Mamdani’s threat in July to have Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrested during this week’s UN General Assembly.
During an interview with the New York Times, Mamdani said he’s engaged in an “active conversation” with his legal department to find out “what the prospects are” to arrest Netanyahu on behalf of the International Criminal Court when he lands in New York.

Trump previously responded to Mamdani’s threat, writing on Truth Social that Netanyahu “will not be arrested, in any way, shape, or form, while in the United States of America.”
Benjamin Netanyahu will not be arrested, in any way, shape, or form, while in the United States of America. He is fighting against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which recently killed 52,000 innocent protestors, and has spent the last 47 years killing American Soldiers, and others.

Mamdani went on to walk back his threats to arrest Netanyahu, admitting that “we do not have the independent legal authority to enforce this warrant.”
Mamdani will reportedly address reporters following their meeting. Meanwhile, President Trump is slated to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron.
