We’ve come to the point where Donald J. Trump went from ‘felon’ to Commander-in-Chief after the most incredible political comeback in history.
After his magical campaign and landslide victory, even some sectors of the Fake News Media have to acknowledge his massive dominance on the political stage.
And so, Time Magazine chose Trump as their ‘Person of the Year’, crowning a sensational year for the MAGA leader.
In the long interview with the magazine, Trump has said he ‘vehemently’ disagrees with the decision to authorize Ukraine to strike targets within Russian territory with US-supplied long-range missiles.
The Telegraph reported:
“Discussing the missiles, the president-elect said the policy switch by Joe Biden’s administration had escalated the war between Russia and Ukraine, and ‘made things worse’ and described it as a ‘foolish decision’.
‘I disagree very vehemently with sending missiles hundreds of miles into Russia. […] Why are we doing that? We’re just escalating this war and making it worse. That should not have been allowed to be done’.”
Not only has Trump joined the ‘exclusive club’ of people to be named Time’s Person of the Year, he has done it for the second time.
While he covered a range of subjects, his public vow to end the biggest war since WW2 was an important part of the exchange.
“Speaking to Time, he said: ‘The level, the number of people dying is number one, not sustainable, and I’m talking on both sides. It’s really an advantage to both sides to get this thing done’.
‘You know, this is a war that’s been — this is a tragedy. This is death that’s far greater than anyone knows. When the real numbers come out, you’re going to see numbers that you’re not going to believe’, he added.”
Naturally, Trump has unveiled how he plans to bring the warring capitals to the table. In fact, this is probably something that he will discover as the negotiations advance.
But it is true that he appointed a peace envoy who once proposed curbing weapons deliveries to Kiev as leverage, so that may be in the cards.
“The president-elect could use threats of trade tariffs on China to convince Beijing to finally put pressure on Putin to end the war.”
