Two US Members of Congress DENIED Entry to Secretive Federally-Funded “Migrant Facility” for Oversight of Taxpayer Spending | The Gateway Pundit

Earlier this week, journalist James O’Keefe of O’Keefe Media Group visited a Ramada Inn by Wyndham transformed to a migrant housing facility that’s reportedly being run by the Casa Alitas program in Tucson, Arizona.

In response to O’Keefe, buses have been coming in with new migrants each quarter-hour, together with throughout his “interrogation” by a Pima County Sheriff Deputy.  In the course of the interplay, O’Keefe disclosed that he had an “undercover” inside the power.  It was reported by O’Keefe that there was a makeshift room within the lodge with over 150 cots arrange (picture).

 

The reporting by O’Keefe caught the eye of US Consultant Tom Tiffany (WI-7), who sits on the Home Judiciary and Pure Assets committees, in addition to Doug LaMalfa (CA-1) who’s on the Pure Assets Committee.

Throughout a visit to Arizona, Reps. Tiffany and LaMalfa determined to go to the exact same facility O’Keefe had documented beforehand.  Upon arrival, Rep. Tiffany recognized himself as a member of Congress on the Pure Assets Committee to a person working on the lodge.  Rep. Tiffany stated he wished to “stop in and take a look at how this place is operating because we understand that you have a lot of migrants come through here,” however was denied entry as a result of “unfortunately, we’re not allowed to let anybody that’s not…employees or staff [in].”

Rep. Tiffany stated this facility was using federal funding, of which US Congress has oversight, and that he want to communicate with a supervisor.  The worker wouldn’t even let the congressmen into the workplace.

Rep. Tiffany instructed the lady that they weren’t trespassing.  After being instructed they have been trespassing, they as soon as once more recognized themselves as members of Congress.

“No, we’re here as members of Congress, and there are federal dollars that go into this operation.  So we have oversight.  And we just want to go in and see what your operation looks like.”

Rep. Tiffany instructed the lady that they’d name for public hearings “because there appears there are other operations like this and people really need to know where their dollars are being spent.”

As Rep. LaMalfa was speaking about having the ability to situation subpoenas, the lady walked away from the 2 members of Congress.

The group that runs this facility is reported as Casa Alitas, a program of the Catholic Neighborhood Providers of Southern Arizona.  Their web site claims they’re “a humanitarian aid project committed to helping asylum-seekers.”

The House Committee on Natural Resources is chaired by Rep. Bruce Westerman (AR-4).  The 45-member committee consists of Rep. Paul Gosar (AZ-9), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14), Rep. Ruben Gallego (AZ-3).
