Vaibhav Suryavanshi brings out coronary heart and salute celebrations after 36-ball 100 in RR vs SRH IPL 2026 match [Watch]

Rajasthan Royals (RR) batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi slammed his second IPL century in the 2026 match against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday, April 25. The left-hander smashed Sakib Hussan for a six to bring up a 36-ball hundred.

The youngster achieved the landmark in the 14th over of RR’s innings. Sakib bowled a fuller-length ball outside off, and Suryavanshi stood inside his crease to loft it over long-on for the maximum. Following his ton, he took off his gloves and helmet before coming up with a heart emoji sign before performing a salute at the dugout. Having said that, Sakib dismissed him lbw on the next ball.

Suryavanshi smashed 103 runs off 37 balls at a strike rate of 278.38, including 12 sixes and five boundaries. During his knock, the Bihar-born batter became the youngest (15 years and 29 days) to reach 1000 runs in T20s. He is now the second-fastest Indian (26 innings) to reach the landmark after Devdutt Padikkal (25 innings).

The 15-year-old had previously slammed 101 off 38 balls at the same venue against the Gujarat Titans (GT) during his maiden IPL season last year. The Royals retained him for a base price of ₹1 crore ahead of 2026 auction.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi emerges as the leading run-scorer in IPL 2026

With his century, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become the joint-highest run-scorer in IPL 2026. The left-hander has scored 357 runs in eight innings at a strike rate of 134.86, including the aforementioned century and two fifties. While Suryavanshi has played one more than Rahul, he has faced only 152 balls as compared to the wicketkeeper (190 deliveries). Notably, Delhi Capitals (DC) opener Rahul slammed an unbeaten 152 off 67 deliveries against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the afternoon game.

In the match, the Royals were 213/4 after 18 overs, with Shimron Hetmyer and Donovan Ferreira at the crease. Apart from Vaibhav, Dhruv Jurel chipped in with 51 off 35 balls. Together, the duo shared a 112-run partnership off 60 deliveries for the second wicket.
