
As the old saying goes, elephants never forget and never forgive. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) learned this lesson the hard way while questioning a conservative witness who remembered a violent statement uttered by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).
As Fox News reported, The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing on Wednesday to investigate the influx of nationwide injunctions against the Trump administration by activist district judges and to explore potential solutions to the crisis. This came one day after the House held its own hearing on the subject.
During the hearing, Klobuchar was completely embarrassed by Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) when the Texas Republican dared to tell the truth about the Democrats’ scheme to sabotage President Trump’s agenda and called them “the party of murderers and r*pists. She went into meltdown mode in response and sent the entire hearing off the rails.
But Klobuchar had an arguably even more embarrassing moment when she tried to corner Jesse Panuccio, who served as the acting United States Associate Attorney General in 2017 and again from February 2018 to May 2019 during the first Trump administration. He now works for the law firm Boies Schiller Flexner LLP.
Klobuchar thought she could humiliate Panuccio by asking him whether he had lost his temper and verbally attacked a judge who did not rule for him in a case.
“As a partner in a law firm, have you ever taken to social media to attack a judge who personally ruled against you?” Klobuchar asked.
Panuccio was well-prepared for Klobuchar’s ambush and said personally insulting judges was wrong. Then he made Klobuchar regret her gotcha question with this brutal reminder regarding Schumer and the threat he made toward two Supreme Court Justices:
“Let me just give you a quote: ‘I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh; you have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price,’” Panuccio stated. “That was something Senator Schumer said, and I thought it was awful.”
“And it released a wave of violent threats against Supreme Court Justices, and I think that’s problematic,” he added.

For context, Schumer made his chilling threat to Gorsuch and Kavanaugh on March 4, 2020, just days before the COVID-19 pandemic hit America. The crowd roars in approval upon hearing him put a target on the Supreme Court justices’ backs.

Having Schumer’s words thrown back in her face caught Klobuchar off-guard, and she could only muster this weak response:
“I have, I have, no doubt the language is a problem on the left and the right,” she said.
