WATCH: Naomi Osaka screams ‘What the f**ok’ in sudden second in Bad Homburg 1R as she lets 5-0 lead slip

Naomi Osaka made her debut in Bad Homburg as the sixth seed on Sunday, June 21, 2026. She began her campaign against Magdalena Frech. After saving a couple of early break points, the former World No.1 settled into the match and began to take control.

The Japanese tennis star broke her opponent twice and led the faceoff 5-0. However, Osaka fell short of continuing the same rhythm while closing the set. She failed to convert a set point on return and handed multiple opportunities for her opponent to score. During an important point, Frech hit a shot that barely caught the line, making it legal with a needle-thin margin.

The unexpected shot caught Osaka completely by surprise and she expressed her frustration, shouting:

“What the f**k.”

Frech continued to push her momentum to 5-4 in the next few games. However, the duel was interrupted by rain, leading to suspension and the end of the day’s schedule in Bad Homburg. Osaka and Frech will resume their contest on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the Centre Court.

Naomi Osaka will enter the 2026 Wimbledon Championships as the 14th seed with an attempt to clinch her maiden victory at the Grass-court Grand Slam Tournament. Ahead of her appearance, Nike revealed the Japanese ace’s outfit for the occasion.

The ‘Naomi Osaka Slam Nike Women’s Dri-FIT Tennis Dress’ celebrates the Japanese art form, with cuts separating Kirigami from Origami. It features a sweat-wicking tech and body-skimming design, which will help her to play freely. It also has seven carefully placed 3-D flowers. The all-white dress also has a rounded hem.

Osaka signed a lucrative contract with Nike in 2019. The four-time Grand Slam champion will vie at the 2026 Wimbledon championships, where she has only advanced to the third round three times.

Osaka stunned her fans at the 2026 French Open and Australian Open. In Melbourne, the 28-year-old donned a jellyfish-inspired dress, which featured an ocean-blue tie-dye tracksuit jacket and ruffled white wide-leg bottoms. It also had a pleated miniskirt on the sides. She completed the look with a wide hat and veil.

At the Clay-court Major, Osaka made a striking appearance in a custom, glittering gold Nike tennis dress, striped with sequins. In her first round, she opted for a black sleeveless vest with a corset-style lace-up back and paired it with a floor-length pleated tulle skirt. For the next round, she wore a gold metallic sequin bomber jacket with a train.
