We have to stick with one another and keep constructive

Erling Haaland has sent a message to Manchester City fans following the Premier League’s guilty verdict. He wants everyone to stick together and trust the club officials, as they have appealed it.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Haaland said that fans need to remain positive regardless of the situation. He claimed that the players are focused on the Liverpool clash and not thinking about the off-pitch situation. He said:

“I think they [the City fans travelling to Anfield] are gonna have a good time. We have to stick together. We have to stay with each other and stay positive. No matter what happens in life, we always have to have a smile.”

“We have to stay positive, look ahead and try to win football games and try to enjoy the situation and win the game. We have to stick together, and we have to spread the love to each other. So yeah, stick together, enjoy the ride and smile.”

Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca also echoed Erling Haaland’s comments, saying the main focus remains on the game. He said that it was important to play with passion and work on the tactics, and said:

“First of all, Anfield away, we’re going to bring our passion, [and] we’re going to bring our game plan. But for sure we need their voice, their passion. In the last two days I watched last year’s game at Anfield away and the celebration at the end was fantastic.”

“We need to be all together. I said many times the reason why this organisation in the last 15 years was top was because from the owner, the CEO, the sporting director, the manager, players, fans, they are all on the same page. And this is fantastic.”

Manchester City travel to Liverpool to take on Andoni Iraola’s side. It is their first match since the Premier League‘s independent committee found them guilty on all serious charges.
