It’s going to be another boring day in terms of data releases and most likely on the newsflow as well. The calendar is basically empty with the FOMC Minutes as the only highlight. Unfortunately, the minutes are almost never a market-moving release because it’s old news.
It’s an unusual week as we even have very few central bank speakers. They usually talk a lot, but not this week. Everyone’s in summer mood I guess.
The focus today will remain on Trump’s tariff letters and/or trade deals. Today was supposed to be the deadline for the rolling out of all the letters and trade deals but as we’ve seen in the past months, this saga doesn’t really have a deadline.
