What are the principle occasions for in the present day?

In the European session, we don’t have anything on the agenda other than a couple of low tier releases. In the American session, the only highlight is the NY Fed Consumer Inflation Expectations report but it’s almost never a market-moving release because it’s the last one to come out after the UMich and Conference Board ones.

We have a few Fed speakers today but since we haven’t got any meaningful report in the meantime, it’s unlikely that they will deviate from their previous stance. Therefore, market will likely continue to consolidate or move by inertia until we get the key data like the NFP and CPI.

Central bank speakers:

  • 14:00 GMT/10:00 ET – Fed’s Bostic (hawkish – non voter)
  • 14:05 GMT/10:05 ET – Fed’s Bowman (dovish – voter)
  • 14:45 GMT/10:45 ET – Fed’s Miran (uber dovish – voter)
  • 15:30 GMT/11:30 ET – Fed’s Kashkari (neutral – non voter)
  • 16:10 GMT/12:10 ET – ECB President Lagarde (neutral – voter)
  • 20:05 GMT/16:05 ET – Fed’s Miran (uber dovish – voter)
