What is Cash Out in Vampire Crawlers?

During your gameplay in Vampire Crawlers, you will come across a wide variety of chests that offer a chance to obtain exclusive rewards. When you open them, you receive three options, one of which is Cash Out.

The Cash Out option allows you to take immediate currency by giving up the chest entirely. However, doing this will forfeit any potential rewards from that chest, and you will not be able to access it again afterwards.

If you are unsure how the Cash Out option works in poncle’s turn-based roguelite deckbuilder, this guide should help you out.

As mentioned earlier, Cash Out is one of the three options you receive after opening a chest in Vampire Crawlers. The available choices are: Choose a Gem, Leave, and Cash Out. Here is what each of them does:

  • Choose a Gem: True to its name, this option allows you to pick a gem that can be slotted into one of your cards. However, it is only useful if your deck has an available gem slot. Without a free slot card, this option is ineffective.
  • Leave: This option allows you to exit the chest without making a decision. In that way, you can return to it later and choose again. It is especially useful when you are unsure about the available gem or when you do not have a free slot at the moment.
  • Cash Out: This is the final option, which allows you to take 200 coins in exchange for giving up the chest. Once you choose this, you will not be able to access it again.

When should you Cash Out in Vampire Crawlers?

Whether you should Cash Out depends entirely on your current situation in the run. Here are some scenarios where it becomes the better choice:

  • When the gem is not useful: If the available gem does not fit your build, taking the currency is the better option in Vampire Crawlers.
  • When your run is at risk: If your HP is low and tougher enemies are ahead, it is safer to Cash Out and secure some value before the run ends.
  • When you do not have a gem slot: If your deck has no available slots, your only practical options are to Leave or Cash Out. In such cases, taking the 200 coins can often be the more beneficial choice.
