The Portland Winterhawks might just be channeling their inner Bond villain for their 50th anniversary jersey.
The Western Hockey League team unveiled the jersey on their social media channels on Thursday, October 16, nine days before they wear it on the ice for the first time at their 2025-26 home opener on Saturday, October 25.
The jersey goes heavy on gold to celebrate the team’s 50th anniversary. The gold base of the jersey has a gold-and-black version of the Winterhawks’ primary logo on the front, with the only other colour being a red eye.
The forearms of the jersey are black, with a broad red stripe and a thin gold stripe at the elbow. The collar is black, with a gold Under Armour logo and black laces at the front. A gold version of the team’s 50th anniversary logo appears on each shoulder.

The jersey is paired with black pants and gloves, along with gold socks with the same striping as the sleeves. The pièce de resistance of the uniform set, though, might be the metallic gold helmet, which has black hawk markings on each side.

Along with the gold jerseys, the Winterhawks have been wearing gold-accented numbers on their regular jerseys so far in the 2025-26 season. Portland started their season with 11 straight road games while their home arena, the Veterans Memorial Coliseum, was being renovated.
The puck drops on the Winterhawks’ 2025-26 home opener against the Saskatoon Blades at 6 p.m. PT on Saturday, October 25.
