Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler have the best odds to win The Players Championship 2026. This week on the PGA Tour, players will tee off in the unofficial fifth major. The tournament will kick off on Thursday, and ahead of that, as per the FanDuel odds, Scheffler is the top favorite to win this week. He has the odds of +500.
McIlroy is meanwhile eyeing on defending his title, and he has the odds of +1600. The world No. 2 had withdrawn from last week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational after playing two rounds. He suffered a back injury during a gym session ahead of the third round of last week’s event. He will be returning this week, and it would be interesting to see how things will unfold for him on the PGA Tour.

This season, McIlroy had started his season on the PGA Tour at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He carded the four rounds of 68, 67, 72, and 64 to settle in a tie for 14th place. He then played at the Genesis Invitational and was close to a win. McIlroy started the game with an opening round of 66, followed by the next three rounds of 65, 69, and 67. He settled in a tie for second place.
Meanwhile, Scottie Scheffler has been pretty impressive on the PGA Tour so far this season. He started the campaign at The American Express with a marvelous win. He then settled in T3 place at the WM Phoenix Open and T4 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Scheffler had also previously tasted success at The Players Championship. He won the event in 2023 and then defended the title in 2024. Last year, he settled in the T20 place.
