Why is Keith Urban again on-line after his break up from Nicole Kidman? Musician drops lighthearted hair-themed video amid ongoing break up

Keith Urban returned to social media following the news of his split with Nicole Kidman. The country star has kept a low profile since the news of the breakup and the pending divorce came out, but continued to perform onstage on his tour. He also currently appears in The Road with Blake Shelton, where singers compete to be opening acts for Urban in venues across the country.

But while he’s busy with his tour and the show, Urban has kept himself away from social media. His last post on Instagram was a promotional video for the CBS show back in September. However, on Saturday, November 15, he made a social media post for another promotional video of The Road.

The clip is of him and Blake Shelton, looking back on their days in Nashville and all the disastrous hair choices they had back in the day. It was a joint post by the two country stars, which Shelton captioned:

“You know you learn a lot when you’ve been on the road for more than a few years… especially when it comes to your hair…right @keithurban?”

Keith Urban is the headliner featured in The Road, and Blake Shelton is one of the executive producers, along with Taylor Sheridan. The latter is also a principal cast member with the tour manager, Gretchen Wilson. It airs on CBS on Sundays at 9:00 pm ET.

Keith Urban got candid about the emotional hurdles of going on tour and spending time away from his family in the debut episode of his new CBS series, The Road. In the premiere episode that aired on the channel on October 19, he talked about how “miserable” touring can get, saying:

“You wake up on a tour busy at 3:30 in the morning and you’re sick as a dog, you’re in the middle of nowhere and you’ve got to play your fifth show later that night, and yoy haven’t slept, and you miss your friends, and you’re missing your family, and you;re completely lonely and miserable and sick.”

After painting the picture of what it can sometimes look like when he goes on tour, Keith Urban added that it makes him question why he was doing it in the first place. But while things can get “miserable” at times, the country star also has a clear answer why he’s doing it: “Because this is what I’m born to do.”

He also said in the premiere episode that touring is his “calling,” adding: “You’re going to do it or you’re not going to make it.” He wrapped up his High and Alive tour in September. But according to his official website, Keith Urban will be back on tour in March 2026, starting with a show at the Top Shelf Country Cruise in Nassau, Bahamas, before going around the UK and back to the US.

Nicole Kidman filed for divorce from Keith Urban on September 30, but according to several reports, per Hello Magazine, the idea to separate reportedly came from the country star.
