WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces Mark thirtieth Season With Logo Blending Franchise Eras – Sports activitiesLogos.Net News

Though they’ve moved a couple of times, the Las Vegas Aces can trace their lineage back to the start of the Women’s National Basketball Association. So, as the WNBA celebrates its 30th season, the Aces are joining in with a commemorative logo of their own.

The logo was unveiled on the Aces’ website and social media channels last week. Blending elements from all three of the franchise’s identities over the years — the Aces, the San Antonio Silver Stars and the Utah Starzz — the logo features a white number 30 in the style of the numbers the Starzz used on their uniforms. The number has a gradient outline that fades from purple to light blue, and it sits in front of a black star with a silver outline.

A black banner with the word “SEASONS” in the Aces’ current font appears below the number, while the Aces’ primary logo sits on top, between the digits.

The logo is part of the Aces’ larger 30th season celebrations, which also include 30 acts of service in the community, a documentary about the WNBA title-winning 2025 Aces squad titled “Never Fold,” an alumni weekend in June and giveaways all season long.

The Aces will hold two Legacy Nights during the 2026 season. The first, on July 30 against the New York Liberty, will honour the Utah Starzz. The second will take place on August 20 against the Connecticut Sun and will pay tribute to the San Antonio Silver Stars.

The Utah Starzz were one of the original eight franchises that played in the WNBA’s inaugural season in 1997. They played in Salt Lake City until 2002, when they were bought and relocated to San Antonio. They played as the Silver Stars until 2013, then dropped “Silver” from their name and played as the San Antonio Stars until 2017.

In 2018, the franchise was sold again, this time to MGM Resorts, who moved them to Las Vegas to play out of the Michelob Ultra Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. MGM sold the team to Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis in January 2021, and while he kept the team at the Michelob Ultra Arena, he changed the team’s colour scheme to match the Raiders’ in 2024. Since moving to Las Vegas, the Aces have won three WNBA championships (2022, 2023, 2025).

The Aces will begin their 2026 regular season in front of a bigger crowd than usual at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 9, when they host another original WNBA franchise, the Phoenix Mercury, in a 2025 Finals rematch. The Aces will also receive their 2025 championship rings in a ceremony prior to tip-off.
