An American Airlines flight was reportedly interrupted by a woman stripping nude and performing indecent acts after taking off from Baltimore, Maryland.
American Airlines Flight 1779 was en route from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to Miami International Airport on September 11 when the unruly passenger removed all of her clothes started touching herself.
Flight attendants reported that the woman was “touching herself in an indecent manner,” though it is unclear exactly what she was doing.
“FA1 REPORTS THAT PAX IN SEAT 9DEF HAS TAKEN OFF ALL HER CLOTHES AND WAS SEEN BY OTHER PAX TOU* HERSELF IN AN INDECENT MANNER. FOM SAYS THIS MUST BE REPORTED TO IOC/OSM AND HAVE LAW ENFORCEMENT,” a message on the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System read.
The woman was later detained by police upon landing in Miami.
Per AirLive:
The flight was cruising at an altitude of 38,000 feet when flight attendants alerted the cockpit crew to an escalating situation in the front right section of the cabin.
According to Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) logs transmitted during the flight, the flight’s lead attendant reported that a female passenger seated in row 9, had completely undressed herself and began engaging in explicit, indecent acts in full view of nearby passengers.
Following standard security procedures outlined in the airline’s Flight Operations Manual, the flight crew immediately contacted American Airlines’ Integrated Operations Center (IOC) and requested that local law enforcement be dispatched to meet the aircraft upon arrival.
Despite the disruption, the aircraft continued to its destination without diverting, touching down safely at Miami International Airport (MIA) at 11:32 p.m. EDT. The plane taxied to Gate D2 in the airport’s North Terminal, where officers were waiting to board the aircraft and take the passenger into custody. Local authorities in Miami-Dade are currently investigating the incident.
The flight was reportedly delayed for nearly two hours prior to the incident.
