Lyra Valkyria recently lost to Bayley in a huge No-Disqualification match on WWE RAW, but it seems she has been handed even worse news: her fiancé, Lj Cleary, has shared that he could be out of action for up to a year.

Cleary shared on his Instagram page that he had suffered an injury, and it requires surgery that could sideline him for 9-12 months.

“Absolutely breaks my heart to post this. As of this morning, I have been diagnosed with an injury that requires surgery and will have me out for 9-12 months. There is never a good time to get hurt, but it particularly stings right now as I was on the roll of my career, having the best year of my career as a whole with some big things lined up.” he wrote.

He further explained:

“But this is the nature of the game. Thank you for everyone that’s ever supported me up till now, this is a minor speed bump in the grand scheme of this beautiful life.”

Lyra Valkyria’s fiancé isn’t signed to WWE, but he has appeared on the show as part of her storylines in the past.

When she was feuding with Becky Lynch and the two women were part of a deeply personal feud, he was spotted at ringside when Lynch was attacking Lyra Valkyria in front of him. He has also been mentioned in their promos, since Lyra and Lynch have known each other and each other’s partners for some time.

It’s a surprise that Cleary hasn’t been signed by WWE since he is considered to be a great technical wrestler and he could go on to be a recognisable star in the future. This injury is a massive setback for him since he has been having a fantastic year up until now.

Wrestlers are aware of the risks, and it seems that he has been introduced to one of the biggest risks with this injury, but there is nothing stopping him from returning to the circuit much bigger and better.
