BANG!! WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page hasn’t been on TV for a while, aside from popping up in random backstage clips shown on Twitter. But the People’s Champion of WCW could be returning to TV if a recent report is to be believed.
Back in 2024, Diamond Dallas Page signed a Legends Deal with WWE following an appearance during the Bad Blood PLE. Page took to Twitter to announce the deal, stating that he had so much fun both in the crowd and backstage that he quickly put pen to paper. The next year, Page personally revealed to Lex Luger that he was going into the Hall of Fame. This was after Page had spent quite some time working with Luger, who asked Page to help get him back in shape. At the 2025 WWE HOF ceremony, Lex Luger stood up out of his wheelchair to accept the honor in what was one of the most emotional moments in the event’s history.
Thanks for the submission!
Now, it seems that WWE is ready to Feel The BANG again. Per WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, the promotion is discussing an upcoming TV appearance for Diamond Dallas Page. The 70-year-old has not only been an inspirational motivator for wrestlers and fans alike with his DDPYoga Program. He’s also been around for some of WWE Champion Cody Rhodes‘ biggest moments.
Rhodes is in the middle of his third World Championship run in the promotion, seemingly going up against one of his most violent opponents yet…and a man who has put many legends to rest in the past year. DDP’s already retired, but it doesn’t mean Gunther couldn’t lock in a sleeper on the icon.
The report from WrestleVotes states that a source said this would be a one-off appearance more than anything if it happened, so it probably wouldn’t be an angle like that. But we can dream.
Diamond Dallas Page’s history with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes
Before Cody Rhodes’ return to WWE, he, alongside Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Tony Khan, launched All Elite Wrestling. Rhodes and the Elite served as Executive Vice Presidents, as well as competing in the ring. Page often accompanied Rhodes to the ring alongside his wife, Brandi, their dog, Pharaoh, Arn Anderson, and others for his big matches.
Rhodes and Page have both spoken about their friendship several times over, which started at a young age, as Page and Rhodes’ father, Dusty Rhodes, were very close. Page has served as an ear for Rhodes through the good and bad, as well as a mentor and an instructor, as Rhodes and many wrestlers are huge proponents of Page’s DDPYoga.
If the promotion does bring in DDP for one appearance, even a small one, it will hopefully involve the American Nightmare in some fashion. Though we wouldn’t be upset about seeing someone get dropped with one last Diamond Cutter.
