A WWE legend recently talked about rumors of him returning for a final match against AEW star MJF. Unfortunately, the answer was negative.
The legend being talked about is none other than Mick Foley, who has previously spoken about returning for one last match. He had also mentioned how MJF had approached him with ideas about what the match could be like, which had greatly impressed Mick Foley. Nevertheless, it appears that the match won’t be happening anytime soon.
Speaking in an exclusive video with Sportskeeda, the WWE legend envisioned what the bout would be like, dubbing it the battle of Long Island. He said:
“MJF, I wish I could do it. The battle of Long Island. Can you imagine that, Nassau Coliseum. The battle of Long Island, ah it would be epic. But alas, at this point, it does not seem like it’s meant to be. But that’s my answer, and I am sticking to it.” [1:27 onwards]
The WWE legend did not outright decline the offer
According to Mick Foley, his return and final match were not out of the picture if he managed to hit a certain weight goal.
Speaking in the same video, the WWE legend stated that if he dropped to the 250-pound mark, he could consider revisiting the idea of a final match. He said:
“Maybe, maybe if I continue to drop LBs (weight) and I get down to the 250-pound mark, maybe, maybe, we can revisit the idea. So, I don’t wanna give away too much. But he (MJF) had some great ideas. I think it would have gone down really well with wrestling fans. It meant something different, emotional, really captivating. Largely because of him. But I’d be part of that too.” [1:00 onwards]
For now, fans will have to stay tuned to see what is next for Mick Foley down the line.
